WHAT A WEEK It’s easy to forget that you’re progressing. I, for one, always forget to look back at the time that’s passed and assess how far I’ve come. Some weeks are better than others, of course, but as long as there are baby steps going forward, that’s all that matters. This week has been a never-ending marathon and it’s nice to take a break and spend some time reflecting 🎀

JULYING I’m struggling to believe that it’s July already. Just the other day I was rounding off 2019, looking forward to all the goodness 2020 would bring. And now here I am, halfway through the year, stuck in the middle of a pandemic with no signs of it easing up, all plans put on hold, and twiddling my thumbs 🤷‍♀️ But there is still good in each day - sunshine, the chance to meditate and do yoga, learning new skills, working steadily, and keeping busy and productive while waiting for better days 🌼 I guess, at the end of it all, we can only make the most of each day with what we have in the current circumstances we’re in. And that’s ok too.

Greenwich is probably one of my favourite areas in London - full of pretty buildings and history and the most amazing Asian restaurant 🤤 Plus, it’s LITERALLY where time “is made” - the place where it all begins, where it all roots from. Visiting the Greenwich Observatory and the Meridian Line isn’t really as cool as it sounds - it’s just a line drawn on the ground - but the concept of it is so terribly exciting. Time is a weird and wonderful concept 🥰

But what we want is the opposite of that - stepping into the light, living up to our full potentials, daring to venture ahead. So why not try that today? No matter how small the step - every step in the right direction counts. I believe in you 💖

IN MY SHADOW | Why is it that, so often, we’re the only ones standing in our own way? We’re stuck in our own shadow, playing small, keeping ourselves hidden in the darkness and not stepping out into the light of our potential lives. My good friend @ezramabengezaofficiel and I have been discussing this over the last week or so - and have yet to come up with a valid answer. Sure, we all have our own personal reasons for doing this, our own demons, but it seems that perhaps it’s human nature to be afraid of ourselves and what we could be or become .... _______

CARTOON HEROES | The world’s a pretty serious place right now, and sometimes we all just need a little break for something fun and completely not serious. So, cartoons. I’ve always wanted to be a cartoon so was super psyched when I found this cartoon-creating app and wasted an hour of my life playing around with it. So worth it though 😂 I’d choose cartoon me over real me. What’s your fave cartoon?

LONDON LOVIN’ | If it weren’t for the COVID19 crisis and lockdown, I’d be back in London by now. Feeling particularly sad today about how much life has changed in the space of two months and how deeply my industry - and my life - has been affected by all of this. So taking the day reminiscing about past UK adventures ❤️

JUST SITTING AROUND | I wish I were sitting around in Notting Hill like I am in this photo. But I’m actually sitting around in Cape Town during the South African lockdown. And I realised I haven’t posted on Insta in ages. Truth is, life hasn’t been terribly exciting. It’s the hustle and grind of groundhog day - get up, meditate, exercise, read, journal, work, cook, dive into a series. Am I being productive? Hell yes. Am I being exciting? Not really. CHEESE FEELS | #FlashbackFriday to the @candycrushsaga commercial I shot earlier this year. It’s cheesy and cute and loving and all the right things to distract me from the anxiety-ridden world we’re currently living in 🌸 And this was totally one of the most GORGEOUS wedding dresses I’ve ever worn 👰 It weighed half a ton but so worth it!
